FLEXLUBE Running and Sealing Compounds

  • The patented product called “FlexLube” which was developed in conjunction and cooperation with DuPont Chemical Co. is a proven product of more than fifteen years used by the world’s leading oil companies such as British Petroleum, Phillips Petroleum, Statoil Company of Norway.

  • The product is a thread running and sealing compound that prevents leakage at the pipe connection when the oil pipes are screwed together.

  • Its unique benefit is that it can provide sealing integrity in temperatures up to 250 degrees C and at pressures of 10,000 psi and will not “bake-out”.

  • FlexLube products are inert to “sour gas”, including H2S, CO2.

  • FlexLube should be used on all deep oil and gas wells that have high temperatures and high pressure.

  • FlexLube is a family of products that include products designed for several specific types of applications, including mill end, field end, locking, fast sealing, and special designs required by the customer.

RIG READY for OCTG Thread Corrosion Protection and Storage

  • Excellent De-Watering Properties:  Can be used for displacing water while establishing a thin film corrosion protection barrier.

  • Ideal Corrosion inhibitor for medium to long term storage.

  • Corrosion Protection by a thin film that is approximately 0.000025 inches thick, so it does not interfere with measuring equipment and therefore need not be removed.

  • Suppresses Fingerprint Corrosion that might be on bright steel-cut threads and therefore a future rust possibility.

  • Fast Drying and does not risk high flammability or contain chlorinated compounds.

  • Outstanding humidity and salt atmosphere protection for threaded pipe: up to five years indoor storage and 3 to 5 years outdoor covered storage.

  • Because of its thixotropic nature, it has the ability to become fluid with agitation enabling the residual film to be self-healing.

  • Can be applied directly on threads coated with Rig Ready.

  • Easily removed from threads by wiping with a cloth.  

  • No messy cleanup.

  • If Flex Lube is the threading running compound, there is no need to remove the Long Haul.  The FlexLube can be applied directly.

  • High flash point therefore no need for special fire equipment.

CLEAR CAP INSPECTION SYSTEM for Economical Inspection and Storage of OCTGs

    This is best stated by the following endorsement by ExxonMobil (and we quote);

“In addition to the provision of API Specification 5CT, and ExxonMobil’s Testing and Performance Requirements for Oilfield Thread Protection (FRP.37PR.84), closed-end, liftable, and transparent Tubular Protection Technologies’ IC 20/20 clear caps manufactured with Dupont Surlyn shall be used.  All exposed threads shall be coated with Castrol IC 20/20 “Rig Ready” dry film rust-inhibiting storage compound, or for long-duration store, Castrol IC20/20 “Rig Ready” and a top coat of Castrol IC10/10 “Long Haul” as directed by ExxonMobil on the Purchase Order.”

Case Studies - ExxonMobil

Challenge: Provide an economical, environmentally safe storage system for use on premium threads.

Solution: The application of Rig Ready and Long Haul was made to 40 VAM PTS threaded ends (both female and male). After coating, the threads were covered with the Clear Cap System of Tubular Protection Technologies.

Results: This patented system provided corrosion-free results for 18 months in the yard with weekly inspections. These inspections were made without the removal or cleaning of the threaded surface. A complete photo library is available upon request.
